I received an exciting parcel yesterday morning.
It was some press samples of eyeshadow palettes from Huda Beauty and when I looked at the glowing squares of shimmering eyeshadow I couldn’t resist having a play around.
While I’m a beauty writer, I rarely apply make-up, remove it and re-apply it. Because I was a bit heavy handed with the Huda palettes, I ended up trying about four different looks and used a Ciate Make-up Melter or wet wipes (I know, I know) to take off the pigment.
However, since then I’ve had really sensitive and sore skin around my eyes and I’m putting it down to the fact that I don’t usually cleanse my skin four times in a row.
Lesson learned, but I needed a little boost of moisture to speed up the healing process and that’s when I remembered I had a sample of this Clarins moisturiser called, aptly, Re-boost.
From the branding, I think it’s aimed at the teen market. Indeed, I’ve sent off a few samples from the range for my teenage niece to try too. However, I kept this one as moisturiser is a more adult-appropriate beauty product and I was interested in how it performs.
Well, as soon as I tried it I grabbed my laptop to tap out this post because I was seriously impressed. It has a fruity scent that reminds me of something from my teen years – maybe a soap I had? – I wish I could remember.
It sinks into the skin easily and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. This is my favourite kind of moisturiser rather than the texture you get with body butters etc which just linger on the skin and feel oily for hours.
Perfect for a little nurturing of the skin, and I promise not to over-cleanse ever again in the future!
