THERE IS a new artist on our Pillow radar who goes by the name of Anisa Moghaddam. Hailing from Manchester, the half persian and half French singer-songwriter is about to enchant you with her soulful pop sensibility with a hint of class.
Anisa is a classically trained pianist and her passion for music has been firmly ingrained from an early age (she started piano lessons at the age of six, and penned her own songs not long after). By the age of 15 Anisa began recording her own self-written demo’s at local studios in Manchester.
Whilst at Manchester University, Anisa was introduced to Alwayz Recordings, who, blown away by her musical ability, signed her to their label and management company on the spot.
Signed to Alwayz Records, the 23 year old has been busy in studios from London to New York and L.A with a range of A-list producers – from H-Money (Maroon 5, Kelly Rowland) to Andrea Martin (Leona Lewis, Angie Stone) to develop her debut album.
Anisa fuses these classical influences with contemporary sounds inspired by her idols ranging from Whitney Houston through to Alicia Keys which is evident in her debut EP Music. In this small collection of expertly crafted songs, Anisa’s talent is stripped bare to reveal her natural vocal and instrumental ability in songs penne and composed herself.
