THERE’S nothing like dreaming of a summer holiday when the winter nights are drawing in.
So when an email pinged into my inbox this morning showing a new boutique hotel opening in Majorca in 2014, all work ground to a halt for…. oh at least an hour or two. (Can’t look at sun-soaked holiday pics without plenty of cups of tea and Hobnobs).
To give you an ever keener sense of wanderlust, the location of Hotel Son Ametler sounds idyllic – nestled in almond and olive orchards and lemon and fig trees at the base of Tramuntana Mountains.
One of the most relaxing breaks that I’ve had in recent years was a week in Majorca at a self-catering farmhouse…. so a trip to a hotel like this comes highly recommended!

The property’s farm provides ingredients for all the meals on offer – buffet breakfast and light lunch is included in the price and an affordable a la carte dinner is available for purchase – there’s a swimming pool, evening bar and private terrace that overlooks mountains and fields.
Owner James Hiscock told Pillow Mag: “We are extremely proud to present Hotel Son Ametler. It’s a hidden Majorcan gem. Our guests can relax, eat, drink, explore and recharge, in a converted 18th century farmhouse, where the only sounds are cicadas and sheep bells. This is a boutique style hotel without the boutique attitude”.
