THE SUNSHINE is here and so I’ve been testing out some amazing new beauty treats that are putting a spring in my step.
One of the most appropriate scents for this season that I’ve come across is Sel Santal from Clean Reserve (£82). To me it smells of freshly cut grass mixed with crisp, green apples and sometimes reminds me a bit of my favourite scent growing up – O2 by Impulse (which was a total cult classic. I wish they would bring it back!).
I love mixing it up with another Clean Reserve fragrance called Warm Cotton (£82) which is another cracker. It smells exactly like freshly laundered sheets which is my favourite treat in the entire world. It really makes me happy on those days where my life might be chaos, but I can channel the calm vibes of having a beautiful bedroom.
The other scent that I’ve been trialling is from Le Couvent and is called Aqua Mysteri (£31 for 50ml – not the same size as pictured). It’s a cologne, which isn’t just for men which is what I thought but I found out but is actually just means that it’s a particularly strong type of perfume. It burst with zesty oranges and reminds me of warm nights on the continent walking amongst citrus trees.
I’ve been travelling for work a fair bit lately and I couldn’t resist a few treats from duty free and beyond (I had my heart set on some Charlotte Tilbury goodies).
The things I picked up were an amazing flame-red Lip Expert Matte lipstick in Sweet Flamenco from one of my favourite make-up labels ByTerry. It’s expensive – £29 – but worth every penny (in my opinion) as it lasts for absolutely ages and is just the perfect shade. It dries matte quickly and I carry it with me everywhere. I love it.
I also picked up two items from Charlotte Tilbury which I use most days at the moment.
The Bar of Gold Palette Highlighter is definitely a luxury price, £49, but it is a special kind of product. I have so many highlighters but this one headed straight to the top of my favourites list.
The other piece I picked up was the Pillow Talk eyeshadow palette which is just SO GOOD! I love it. Again, not a cheapy as it’s £39 but if you can afford it – this brand really does deliver the quality that you would expect.
These are my new favourites – what have you been trying this season?
