ALL-AMERICAN sultry superstar Lana Del Rey’s video for Born To Die has been leaked online and it’s every bit as seductive and hypnotic as previous releases Blue Jeans and Video Games.
The self-styled gangster Nancy-Sinatra from Lake Placid, just outside of New York, was first championed by Pillow Magazine back in August and was soon picked up by more mainstream media as one to watch. She sold out the London leg of her tour in just minutes and made an appearance on hit music programme Later… With Jools Holland.
Born To Die is the titular track from the songbird’s debut album.
Lana – real name Lizzy Grant – describes her sound as “Hollywood Sadcore”, inspired by David Lynch, 50s black and white movies, Coney Island, Hip-Hop and heartbreak.
“There’s something beautiful about the fight. About any fight” Lana has previously said. “I’m talking about epic, knocked-down, dragged-out love stories in song. That’s what I’m heading towards.”
