NY is the latest name to grace the UK’s ever-growing list of pop and RnB royalty. The young singer, songwriter and producer from London has been on the radar for quite some time but 2012 is her breakthrough year.
A good music portfolio is always handy if you want to make it in the music industry. Ny toured with Ms Dynamite as a teen and made her own mixtape at the age of 17 that she sold on the streets of the West End for a fiver turning to artists such as Plan B, Wiley and Professer Green for support. A follow up release led to an appearance on Ironiks top five single Stay With Me and a support slot with N-Dubz on their UK Arena tour. Not bad going considering there isn’t even a release date for her debut album yet!
This year all of her hard work will start paying off. ”For me, music’s been a huge factor – like another parent, then a boyfriend, then it’s been a friend and then it’s been a child when it’s acting up. It feels like it’s trapped you in a little bubble and you don’t even want to get away from it.”
Ny’s next venture is touring with Plan B on his UK forestry tour (see dates below) and releasing her next single Music. The infectious pop song is laced with RnB influences with powerful lyrics and a monster bass hook. Have a listen below!
Music is released on May 7th and is taken from her debut album Who Is She which is out later this year.
