DESCRIBED as ‘future-earth-tribal-warrior-beach-girl’ by designer Nikita Sernack; this season Nookie Beach showed another cutting-edge collection of sexy swimwear and threads for the ultimate surf siren.
Launched in 2006 to complement the mainline Nookie range, Sernack said the make-up for the Nookie Beach Rosemount Australian Fashion Week show was, ”Raw and earthy, yet flawless and beautiful”. Hair was teased by the team from KMS, who got through several bottles of Sea Spray to mould locks into a waved-out, relaxed look.
MAC make-up artists also applied stenciled body art, which was laser-cut to match a jewellery design within the collection. The tattoos crawled up model’s legs and bodies in flashes of henna-coloured hue.
Nookie was started by Sernack and her pal Brooke Coleman (Niki + Brooke = Nookie, you dig?) in 2003. The label is a fresh, playful, colourful, cheeky and fun embodiment of what it’s like to be a hot-young-thing in Sydney.
