The Review: myhotel Bloomsbury

LONDON: A city that never sleeps. A city that has the most amazing fusion of art, nightlife and food with influences from all over the world….. And a city that – if you want to soak all this culture up and book a hotel in Zone 1 – can bankrupt you.

Parachuting in to save the day is myhotel Bloomsbury.

With a central location and a wallet-friendly price, it ticks all the boxes – and it’s not a place that skimps on style.

You can judge a good hotel by their breakfast and myhotel Bloomsbury doesn’t disappoint. It has a Gail’s bakery associated with it. If you’ve never tried Gail’s, you’re in for a treat. Crispy croissants (with the perfect sumptuous, melt-in-the-mouth centre), toast and a big bowl of muesli & granola were included in our overnight stay.

The room itself was neat and clean, with a huuuge TV and – most importantly – featured a big bed (although it was two singles pushed together which was a shame) and fresh white bathrobes hanging up. Beautiful beauty products and a hair dryer were supplied also. All the rooms in the hotel have colour-themed design that reflect a cool London edge.

One word of warning – be careful what you grab onto when getting out of the shower. The towel rail looked like a handrail and I burned my hand when I was trying to clamber out! Ouch!

For a hotel based in the centre of a city that never sleeps, the room was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. There may be a wealth of culture on your doorstep; but with a well-stocked minibar and all the mod cons in your room, it maybe tempting to just stay indoors.
