Video: Xperia Z vs. The Northern Lights curated by Damian Kulash of OK Go

WE knew that smartphones could take amazing photos but we can’t quite believe HOW great the camera is on the Sony Xperia Z for filming, recording music and editing with ease.

To test the cutting edge technology, Sony sent Damian Kulash of OK Go to the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden to shoot a music video, inspired by the Northern Lights.

But he couldn’t do it alone. He brought Tim Nordwind and Drea Smith of PYYRAMIDS and photographer Martien Mulder to write a song, and record visuals to go with it – just using the Xperia Z.

And can we say – the results are absolutely amazing!

Drums and cymbals crash against a stark background, the gang race through the snow on a dog sled ride, the stunning aurora swirls through the sky. The soundtrack is simply stunning.

It’s so powerful it’s almost made us forget that it’s actually spring and has had us reaching for our winter furs!
