SHE may seem like a fresh name and face to some, but Grimes is about to release her career-defining third album Visions alongside an impressive line-up of shows in the UK.
Claire Boucher’s spooky artwork and unusually dark alias for a female solo act is quite the opposite compared to the simply stunning music the 23-year-old makes. The Canadian-born songstress blends beat-driven synths with her innocent, girly falsetto vocals. Her first two albums, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa were made available to buy online for free in 2010 but with this year’s hype around her new album and her No1 position of this year’s most exciting new bands in NME it’s time for her to do things properly!
Her new material incorporates influences from Enya, TLC and Aphex Twins whilst touching on New Age, Industrial and K-pop genres for her most adventure and futuristic record yet.
Visions is now available to stream in FULL online here before it’s official release on March 12th followed by her European tour.
