AHHHH – Friday afternoon… that time of the week where we stop working and start dreaming about booking a holiday.
One of our favourite fantasy destinations is The Sarojin, an idyllic hotel in Thailand.
And for an animal lover like me.. there is no better time to go as they have an amazing roster of JUMBO activities scheduled in March to make National Elephant Day.
Guests have the opportunity to ‘Live Like A Local Mahout’ and shadow a professional elephant rider. Guests can join local mahout (the official name for this profession) Roj and help him bathe, feed and ride his elephants bareback through the jungles surrounding The Sarojin. They can also spend time with Roj’s family who live in remote village huts in Khao Sok National Park.
Alternatively, guests can turn ‘Elephant Owner For A Day’ and be assigned their own animal to learn the key responsibilities in caring for a healthy and happy elephant.
Prices for The Sarojin’s ‘Live Like A Local Mahout’ activity start from approx GBP 109) per person. Prices for the Elephant Owner For A Day experience start from approx GBP 51 per person for a full day. Rooms at The Sarojin start from approx GBP 116) inclusive of luxury accommodation in a Garden Residence. all-day à la carte breakfast with sparkling wine for two people.
This is one dream that I need to turn into a reality!
