THE first couple of months of the year have passed, we’ve all been paid and stopped having to budget (hallelujah) and can finally think about buying a few beauty products again.
Here are my top tips for mid-priced beauty brands this are worth the extra investment.
Melvita
I could sing the praises of Melvita all day. They are my go-to skincare brand. Their cleansing milk is the *only* cleanser I swear by as it is luxurious and cleans off every single last scrap of make up with one wash – something that not many cleansing products actually deliver on. I also use their serum and miracle water every morning and evening and am about to trial their Argan Oil range on my skin and hair for a review. Watch this space for updates.
Ruby Red
The scent of a range of products can really make you fall in love with a brand and that’s exactly how my affair with Ruby Red started. Their body soufflé in lemon smells exactly like all my favourite kinds of desserts. Even better – it has an amazing soufflé-like texture, fits in your bag and is a fabulous moisturiser. I’m also using their shower gel which has a different scent, yet just as evocative. They are brilliant.
OPI
The lacquers from OPI aren’t exactly cheap – £12 – but when you calculate the cost per wear, they definitely deserve a place on my list. My favourite shade, Lincoln Park After Dark (a dark inky night sky purple) travels with me everywhere and if you whack on two coats of it – it lasts and lasts.
